On The Deck encourages the supply of environmentally conscious products, and that is why some of our timber is proudly FSC Certified.
The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council®) is a global not-for-profit, independent organization that sets the standards for what is a responsibly managed forest, both environmentally and socially.
The FSC functions to take maintain and better the full state of our world’s forests and all those who rely on them. This is done by safeguarding the fauna and flora, protecting the local indigenous people’s rights, considering and prioritising safety of the forest workers, and so much more.
A lot can happen to a product between leaving the forest and arriving in your hands through a complex supply Chain. FSC Chain of Custody Certification allows On The Deck to use the FSC label, giving you assurance about the origin of the products you have bought.
On The Deck’s certification verifies that FSC-certified material has been identified and separated from non-certified and non-controlled material as it makes its way along the supply chain. By achieving COC Certification, On The Deck has met FSC-STD-40-004 Chain of Custody Standard.
On The Deck imports, stocks and supplies FSC timbers and Non-FSC timbers for specific lodge projects as well as for general stock holding to cater for the timber contractor market. We source from reliable sources to ensure a constant supply of the best quality timbers available.
